Where Celebrities Go for the Holidays

Economic crisis or not, there’s one group of people that can afford going to whatever corner of the world they like: celebrities. Be they movie stars, singers or television stars, they all need to take a break. But which are the places where these famous people choose to relax? From the private island of Necker, a favorite for Steven Spielberg, Mel Gibson and Oprah Winfrey to the tropical beach loved by Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris all these places are roaming with celebrities. We have listed top destinations where celebrities hangout & take a break from their stressful schedule.

Maui: This beautiful island sure has many things to offer and it’s been one of the most popular celebrity vacation spots ever since the King, Elvis himself blew the whistle in 1950’s. Posh stars such as Paris Hilton visit this island for its luxurious shops, hotels, restaurants and, of course, a chance to just pose on a gorgeous beach while some more dynamic celebs, such as Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck.

Dubai: With summery weather prevailing throughout the year, the place boasts spectacular white beaches and luxury resorts, many of which are known for their extravagance. Guests staying at the Burj Al Arab hotel are offered a gold-plated iPad until check-out. Celebs who have vacationed here include Kim Kardashian, the Beckhams, Rita Ora, Kelly Brook and Nicole Scherzinger.

Los Cabos: This iconic Mexican resort town on the Baja Peninsula draws celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Jimmy Kimmel, and Lea Michele. Though Cabo was hit hard last year by Hurricane Odile, most of the area’s hotels have now completely opened, and are even debuting new enhancements. Also of note this year: The Cape, A Thompson Hotel, designed by architect Javier Sanchez, debuted. Every room has a sea-facing room, and there’s an excellent restaurant helmed by star chef Enrique Olvera.

Miami: Miami’s South Beach has long been the subject of many songs, and it is definitely a great place for people watching. Although you’re bound to spot a few famous faces just wandering around this paradise there are a couple of hotspots that are more of a sure thing – if you can get into them. Head to Cecconi’s, the public restaurant of the members only Soho Beach House, for a glimpse of Paris Hilton, Naomi Campbell and plenty more.

Sabi Sands: Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa, and the adjoining Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve is where South Africa’s chicest visitors stay, separate from the masses. You’ll see Kate Moss, Lily Allen, Mischa Barton, Justin Bieber, Chelsea Clinton who visit frequently to enjoy some days away from all the hussle.

Maldives: Home to warm sunshine almost all year round, palm fringed white sand beaches and blue waters you can see right to the bottom of. The Maldives has long been full of celebrities looking to relax and unwind, enjoy excellent food and the life of luxury while working on that all-important tan. Recently reported sightings include Russell Brand and Katy Perry, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, and even the Beckhams have been known to show their perfectly-formed faces there.

Mykonos: Greece is not one of the most popular celebrity vacation spots so many famous people who don’t want to be seen, followed, photographed or gossiped about decide to spend their holidays here and enjoy the peace and quiet they couldn’t have hoped for back home.

Coachella: It is hard to avoid the celebrity pictures from California’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and it appears to be the main summer event for anyone who is anyone. For two weekends a year, the stars radiate bohemian style whilst enjoying the music in the Colorado Desert. The list of stars set who attended this event include Vanessa Hudgens, Lindsay Lohan and many of the Victoria Secret models.

St. Barthelemy: Very similar with the south of France, but with a twist of Caribbean, this island will enchant you with its 22 white sandy beaches. It is one of the top destinations where you can spot A-List Celebrities.

Barbados: Simon Cowell, Mark Wahlberg, and Barbadian native Rihanna all love to spend the holidays on this Caribbean gem, soaking up the sun, Jet-skiing, and enjoying incredible Bajan food. When it comes to resorts, nothing beats Sandy Lane, which has a house Bentley to transfer guests to and from the airport and 112 marble-floored rooms. If the stars want something more low-key come lunch and dinner time, Oistin’s Fish Fry and Cuz’s are two local favorites.

Cannes Film Festival: The Cannes International Film Festival is held every year on France’s glamorous Cote D’Azur and debuts new films of all genres. It is one of the most prestigious film festivals attracting hoards of A-list celebrities to the region. Everyone from models Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse, to Lana Del Rey and Justin Bieber descends on the French Riviera playground.
